(d) A Connie Willis tour of London from two former war history majors who don't know my fave science fiction writer but do know that about which she wrote. And then some. Fun times. In a time when fun is scarce, even.
(e) Feeling like I'm in a *city* again. Asian people do not get comment. Black people do not get funny looks. Dublin is, essentially, a small city. Lovely, but small. And limit yourself to the new tech side of Dublin and that changes even more.
The flight's a bitch, on the cheap airlines. But I'm used to flying coach now [picks up a few friends from dead faints] and I can definitely handle it if it means I get recharged by a city.
