...a job. In an office. For the first time since before I was old enough to legally drink.
Its.... different. The pay is amazing, and it's potential-small-person friendly (kinda by definition, actually). But OMFG it's an adjustment. It's all meetings and socializing, and almost no productivity. And they think it's normal.
This is just bizarre. I'm used to coding for 9 or so hours a day, and vaguely resenting the hour or two I needed to spend emailing and IM-ing clients. Jobs I think will take three days are extended to three WEEKS on my work schedule. Ad I need that time. Because uninterrupted code time is rare.
Also, my commute (on a few days a week, at least) has changed from 9 seconds to 90 minutes. Ow.
Let's see how long I can handle this...
