Interview. Overdue.

Because I am lame and don't use co.mments like the cool kids, I missed my interview questions from Aaron.

Here, only a month or so late, are my answers:

1. Elvis or The Beatles? Why?

Elvis, absolutely. Just saw him with Alan Toussiant at the Paramount in Oakland. He's always doing something new. The Beatles just never really rang my bells.

2. Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?

I mostly hated school until my twenties, when I decided (with much encouragement from my ex) to go back and finally get that damn degree. Ulf Wostner at CCSF helped me get up to speed in math and helped me believe that I could actually do this crazy programming stuff — all the way through my transfer to U.C. Berkeley. He's a brilliant man who manages to stay real, stay humble, and who gets that intelligence doesn't always come in standard packages. He let me shine with my natural gifts (obsessive persistence, exubertastic enthusiasm, mental flexibility) when many teachers would have dismissed me for being so far behind in the basics (like, say, long division...) when I started.

3. You’ve decided to run for president. What’s the one thing in your past you’re going to need help covering up before the press finds it?

Jeez. One thing? Um, let's just say the decade between ages 15 and 25. I'm still not positive my mother doesn't read this blog. So you'll have to buy me a beer (or fund my election campaign) to hear more.

4. What have you lost along the way that you would most love to get back?

My oldest friend.

5. What is the first thing you thought of when you woke up this morning?

Do I have time for a game of poker online before I start working?

THE GUIDELINES:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
