Weight for it

Since we got back from traveling and back into our sedentary lifestyles — and since SF is in another tech boom, which means it's tempting to skip the gym and either bank more billable hours or rest up from the last crunch — I've been plumping back up. A long-overdue physical let me know that I'm not at immediate risk for anything nasty, but still. I came home from our long trip thinner than I'd been in years and years. I want that back — and then some. Damnit.

So: No fun. But last week I stumbled across the Calorie King food+exercise diary. It's utterly simple to use, and even has esoteric foods pre-loaded, like the gluten-free breads and crackers I eat. It'll also extrapolate for you, based on how you did that day. As in: if you keep this up, you'll likely lose (or gain) X pounds in Y months. Good enough to scare me into eating light while some annoying lung bugs kept me from the gym.

Today I read this list of handy tips from Chris Pirillo. Sensible stuff.

I can do this. I'd rather take off and travel again, frankly. But I can do this sensible-eating-and-exercise stuff. I can.
